Posted by admin | Under Treat Hemorrhoids Saturday Nov 28, 2009
Barren band ligation is used to treat an internal hemorrhoid. This works by attaching a rubber band around the base. The pressure applied by the rubber band will stop the circulation in the tied off pile mass. With this treatment, the mass will gradually fall off, usually within seven to ten days. Conventional surgery is another method of treating Hemorrhoids. Also referred to as open and closed hemorrhoidectomy, this operation is performed under anesthetic. The vein mass is tied and cut off during this procedure with a surgical knife or surgical scissors.

Hemorrhoids – can this condition dissapear without treatment. What can you do if you are an weight lifter ?
Posted by admin | Under Treatment for Hemorrhoids Thursday Nov 26, 2009How and when can I resume heavy weight training if I recently discovered this condition ?
Try a natural remedy. Don’t resume heavy lifting until the Hemorrhoids are gone.
What causes Hemorrhoids and how do they treat them?
Posted by admin | Under Treat Hemorrhoids Thursday Nov 26, 2009I’ve notice drops of blood in the toilet, should I be concerned?
Hemorrhoids are dilated (enlarged) veins which occur in and around the anus and rectum. They may be external (outside the anus) or internal and slip to the outside. In both of these instances, the hemorrhoids can be felt and seen as lumps or knots. Hemorrhoids also may remain inside the rectum and so cannot be felt or seen. These are called internal hemorrhoids.
A common cause of hemorrhoids is simply the standing position, in which all the blood above the rectum exerts pressure on the rectal and anal areas. Other conditions which contribute to hemorrhoids are: poor bowel habits, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, obesity, and especially frequent straining when having a bowel movement.
Hemorrhoids can ooze fresh red blood, whether located externally or internally. External hemorrhoids often cause dripping of blood from the anus while sitting on the toilet. The blood might also be seen as soiling of the underwear. Internal hemorrhoids that bleed may produce fresh blood in the stool.
To treat:
Keep the anal area clean, using a mild soap and gentle dabbing after a bowel movement Avoid vigorous rubbing of the area.
Keep the anus and Hemorrhoids as dry as possible, using talcum powder and a pad of soft tissue to absorb moisture.
Eat a diet high in fiber (bran) and roughage. Fiber and bran retain water in the stool, producing soft, bulky stools which are easier to pass and reduce the tendency to develop hemorrhoids. Bulking agents, such as Metamucil, Effersyllium, Konsyl, Citrucel, and Per Diem Fiber, are available in drug stores. These also come in less expensive generic versions.
Avoid straining when having a bowel movement.
When thrombosis, pain, and tenderness occur, a 10 to 20 minute hot tub bath two to four times daily brings heat to the area, provides relief from the pain, and promotes healing. This is called a hot Sitz bath.
To prevent:
Eat plenty of fiber, bran, or roughage, or use a bulking
agent to maintain regular, soft bowel movements.
Do not delay or try to prevent a bowel movement when
the urge is present.
Exercise, especially aerobic, may help produce more
regular bowel movements.
Drink plenty of liquids and eat regularly scheduled meals.
Keep the area around the anus clean and dry.

Here is one person’s testimony
Hem-Relief

For what it’s worth, I tend to suffer from a bout with Hemorrhoids every few months, mainly due to poor diet, which causes chronic diarrhea, which in turn causes hems. I have had this problem for about 4 years now. I have seen doctors about it, and the only recommendation they have been able to give me is to change my diet, which is not at all easy for me to do. I hate vegetables!!!
For about the past two years, I have been using Hem-Relief, and can say that almost every time I am pain free within one or two days. The itching sometimes lasts a little longer, but that usually goes away within another day or two. I have also noticed a decrease in frequency of bouts since I started using it. They say it can be used daily to help prevent hems from returning, but I can never remember to take it every day, so I just take it when I start to notice symptoms. I have tried ZenMed Ziro cream, too, which seams to help with the itching for a while, but doesn’t seam to do much to make the hems go away.
Anyway, I hope that is helpful. Hems are horrid to live with, so I wish I would have had a board like this 4 years ago. Good luck to all.
What should I do about chronic hemorrhoids?
Posted by admin | Under Hemorrhoids Thursday Nov 26, 2009I’m only 21 years old, and the last couple of times I had a bowel movement, I have had blood on the tissue paper. I’m assuming this is caused by hemorrhoids. What should I do?
Here are some useful tips for you
1. Apply a hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone, or use pads containing witch hazel or a topical numbing agent.
2. You have to take minimum eight or nine glasses of water per day. Also check the amount of fiber you are eating and adjust it accordingly.
3. Keep the anal area clean and dry. Take a bath or shower (a bath is much better) daily and clean the skin around your anus gently with warm water. Soap isn’t necessary and may aggravate the problem. You should dry the affected part of your body to avoid any irritations.
4. Apply ice packs or cold compresses on the anus to relieve swelling. Make sure the ice is wet and slippery, not sticky. Insert it in the anal hole like a normal suppository.
5. A Seitz bath fits over the toilet. For this treatment you will need one plastic tub with warm water. You can get one at a medical supply store or some pharmacies. It is suggested to use this treatment for 15 minutes three times in a day. This treatment will reduce pain and swelling most effectively, as this is an easier treatment for Hemorrhoid Relief. Or you could just buy some Epsom salts, and put them in a bath, then sit there for ten minutes to gain hemroid relief, longer if necessary.
6. Do not use dry toilet paper when wiping your ass. To help keep the anal area clean after a bowel movement, use wet and moist towels or wet toilet paper that doesn’t contain perfume or alcohol.
7. If coming from the anal hole, you can also try to gently push them back. Once they back in, the pain should disappear very quickly
.
8. Exercise your body. Keep in mind that staying on the toilet for more than five minutes at a time aggravates your Hemorrhoids. Take several short walks a day.
9. You can find relief from hemorrhoids using a hemorrhoid cushion. A hemorrhoid cushion is an inflatable rubber ring, similar to the inflatable rings that kids wear at the beach. When you sit on it, the cushion is minimizing the contact pressure between the sitting surface and the hemorrhoid.
Hope this help
-Michael
