how to treat hemorrhoids?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I just went to the DOC and if you can avoid a finger in the BUTT whynot! IT wasnt fun. But what they did give me was some hydrocortizone creme to apply… ( or something like prep H) and taking a fiber supplement like Citucel or Fiber one , 2X a day to help soften stools. After the hemroid has gone down , your doc may want to band it . Which is putting a small rubber band on it , so it kinda looses oxygen and dies off.. I dont think that it hurts. But I would then consider andcolonic to clean out your intestines and any hardended poopies stuck on the walls of the bowel and intestines.

relief for hemorrhoids please??

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I haven’t been to the doctor yet but for a week now I’ve had a sore bottom and a little bit of blood every now and then. I have had before about 6 months ago when i found out i was pregnant. (miscarried though) I also have had it once still. But both times I was a little embarrased to ask anyone what it was. but this time I spoke to my mother about it and she said it sounds like hemorrhoids. I did go get some cream for it and been eating a few kiwifruit to help pass my food. but its been a week since i got it. How long do you normally have them for? and it there anything at all i can do to help?

As for how long one can have a hemorrhoid for everyone is different. I had one once that cleared up after a week of using a cream for it. I have had another one that has lasted for several years but I found that doing a special kind of bath called a sitz bath can help with controlling the hemorrhoid. This hemorrhoid also caused me a bit of bleeding.

A sitz bath is a special kind of bath that you can do either in the tub or a special pan that goes on the toilet filled with water and something like baking soda where you sit and soak the area a few times a day. It can help shrink the hemorrhoid.

What is the difference between having colorectal cancer and hemorrhoids when it comes to blood on the stool?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Another question: when you just had hemorrhoids (meaning it is just new), is having a blood on the stool just normal?

-for my health class

i dont know about colorectal cancer, but you can read about it on the mayoclinic.com, great site to find out about health problems. i read it there somewhere that having blood in your stool, if its not too often, is okay, because when you have hemorrhoids, you develop, anal fissures, as long as it doesnt happen to often, it usually heals by itself in a few days. so drink plenty of water, to soften your stool and to replenish the blood you lost. dont be scared about it, you should be scared when your stools color changes into brown or like mud, because that means the blood is coming from inside your intestine or stomach. if your bloody stool lasts longer than a week, then you should see a doctor, but dont be scared, you should just be ready with the questions you want to ask the doctor.

How do you apply ice for treatment of hemorrhoids (gross sorry!)?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I have suspected I’ve had IBS for over year. I’ve talked about this with my OB/GYN and I plan to see her again this coming week.

Anyway, I just had an upset stomach episode which is common with IBS. I had a lot of cramping, pain in the stomach and well you get the idea. Anyway, after wiping myself I saw some blood.

I know it is from hemorrhoids since I’ve had them since my first child. I have seen blood before but this time it was kind of dripping some into the pot. I used a Preparation H suppository like I have in the past which always helps.

But after reading some online about this a lot of sites suggested using ICE to help shrink the bleeding hemorrhoid or sitting in a warm bath.

I am wondering about the ice though. How would you apply that? lol

& yes I will see a Dr. this coming week about this.

Link to treatment page:

I have the some problem. Best place to apply ice is whilst on the toilet after doing your "number 1".

how to does one treat hemorrhoids?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

There are a few over the counter treatments like Preparation H and Tucks ointments, and there are wipes that contain witch hazel that are supposed to help as well. You can soak in a warm bath with epsom salts too. Depending on the severity of the hemorrhoids, you may choose to take a stool softener as well which will help ease the pressure when you have a bowel movement. The last thing you need to do is strain more at this time, it can cause the exposed blood vessel to get larger. (ouch!) Good luck!!!

I need relief from hemorrhoids! Please help!?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I have a really big one that appeared last night. I have applied prep h this morning, been drinking water, eating and raisin bran. I will take some metamucil fiber later on today. It’s pretty inflammed right now though, and very very uncomfortable. What else can I do? Should I just leave it alone and wait for the swelling to go down? This is embarassing…please help!

If you have hemorrhoid here is how to treat them:
1. Keep it clean: Keep your anal area as clean as possible. Using moist wipes or medicated hemorrhoid pads are more comfortable than toilet paper.
2. Lay down: Avoid sitting and standing for long periods of time, which can put pressure on the hemorrhoids.
3. Let someone else do it: Avoid heavy or moderate lifting.
4. Petroleum jelly: Try some petroleum jelly on the rectum to cool it off and ease bowel movements.
5. Try some ice: Sitting on an ice pack may give some relief from the burning.
6. Use a sitz bath: Sit in enough warm water to cover the hemorrhoids, either in your bathtub or in a sitz bath that fits on the toilet.
7. Use suppositories or creams: Check with your health care team before trying any of the over the counter remedies you may find in a drugstore. See:Medication for Hemorrhoids

If none of these remedies helps, your hemorrhoids get worse, or you see any bleeding, check with your health care team.

Do internal hemorrhoids from childbirth go away on their own?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I have painful internal hemorrhoids from having a baby 18 days ago. I’ve been taking stool softeners for 2 weeks and am beginning to wonder if they’re going to go away on their own or if I’m going to have to go into the doctor’s office. Does anyone have experience with this?

Mine went away on their own. They lasted about a month. It was simply the most awful pain ever. Your stool softner is not making you have diarrea is it? That can make them last longer… I got some preperation H wipes… but my doctor said that if they last a really long time then I would need surgery… But after awhile they did go away. Try drinking lots of water and going when you feel the need (I made it worse by waiting until I no longer could because of the pain)

GL I hope you feel better

What is the best way for Hemorrhoid Treatment?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

This hemorrhoids really embarass me. I can’t going out easily since i have hemorrhoids. Please help me, how to treat this sickness?

Hi, I am Dr Rinda. If you are suffering from hemorrhoids, you probably know about most of the conventional treatments: hemorrhoid creams, laxatives, and even surgery or stapling. When their hemorrhoids become painful and inflamed, most people decide to look for help from a doctor.

Hemorrhoids may begin with a person simply being constipated and straining to have a bowel movement. If the pattern of constipation continues, the hemorrhoids may become worse, begin to bleed, and even cause an awful lot of pain.

It doesn’t make any difference if you are a man or a woman; hemorrhoids can happen to you. If you have tried treating your hemorrhoids by changing your diet, using hemorrhoid cream, or even taking natural supplements that are meant to help hemorrhoids, and you have seen little or no progress, then you might be interested in one of the new options for treating hemorrhoids.

One of the newer hemorrhoid treatments is called HTS (Hemorrhoid Treatment System). It is a minimally invasive procedure and may be just the thing to help millions of people who have suffered from hemorrhoids and have seen no results from conventional treatments.

HTS uses arterial ligation which is guided by a Doppler. With HTS, hemorrhoids are treated in a quicker manner; it is very effective and there is little pain during the procedure and recovery time. With this promising new technique available, many people now have an option that has been proven to work well and not be as invasive as hemorrhoid surgery or rubber band ligation would be.

Benefits of HTS include less invasive technology, less painful recovery, and fast hemorrhoid treatment as well as being able to return to your normal activities sooner than with some of the other hemorrhoid treatment options.

In the medicinal and supplemental hemorrhoid treatment area, there are some newer suggestions to treat hemorrhoids in a more natural way. Venapro is one of the newer hemorrhoid treatments and is actually all natural. When you use Venapro, you will see a decrease in anal aching and pain. This treatment is taken orally to work on the problem from the inside.

Another newer option to treat hemorrhoids is hemorrhoids miracle.
We have researched the best products and compiled a list of the most effective hemorrhoid treatments for you. Hemorrhoids miracle is one the best solution regarding results, time until relief, customer service, and overall satisfaction, HM earns our recommendation as the most effective hemorrhoid treatment.
You can visit http://thebesthemorrhoidtreatment.blogspot.com/
for more details.

Whatever way you choose to treat your hemorrhoids, the best hemorrhoid treatment is the one that will work the best for you and the type of hemorrhoids that you have. Doing research about hemorrhoids and different kinds of treatments may be the beginning to health and healing for that most delicate of areas, and you will be able to find the right thing to help you. Hemorrhoids may soon be a thing of the past as you find new ways to treat them and new methods to help yourself feel better.

What special doctor diagnoses and treats hemorrhoids?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Don’t know the type of specialty while looking for the doctor for hemorrhoids.

Probably a gastrointerologist, but any competent primary care doctor can diagnose hemorrhoids.

Is it true that if Preparation-H is used under the eyes it will prevent eye bugs? What else can it do?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I heard from my friends that Preparation-H is good to cure eye bugs. I would like to try it but i want other people’s opinion. What else can it do aside from temporary relief of hemorrhoids?

Hahaha! Are bot flies infecting your eyes or what? Sorry, just trying to figure out why you’re wanting to try this! I’ve never heard of it curing eye bugs before, but I have read & heard that it’s a very good under eye cream for puffiness. Honest to God truth! I’ve read it in several beauty magazines. I’ve never tried it though, so don’t ask me if it really works! I have no clue! LOL

the similarity and difference of hemorrhoids and varicose veins on legs?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I want to know if people who have varicose veins could also have the chance to develop hemorrhoids. I read that hemorrhoids are varicose veis on the anus. What differenciates them with the ones that develope on legs, wchich I have for a long time.

The varicose veins in your legs are the result of hydrostatic pressure and an inefficient valve system between the two systems that drain blood from your legs (there is a "surface" system and a more profound one, when the valves between there 2 systems stop working, blood isn`t drained completely in the "deeper" system, so it increases the pressure in the surface one, the result being the dilatation of vessels.
The hemorrhoids are also dilated veins, caused mostly by the high pressure of the blood in them, the only problem is that that area is the place of some anasthomosys between blood vessels in your body, this meaning that hemorrhoids can be caused by a systemic disorder (cirrhosis produces varicose veins in the esophagus and a hemorrhoids) . In conclusion there is no big difference as they are both produced by an increased pressure in the venous system in that area.

Please any info re hemorrhoids. The least painful treatment.?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

I have extensive external hemorrhoids that may need surgery. There are several different methods of treatment. Anyone with personal experience with this problem? I am 85 years old.

Hemorrhoids Treatment
Hemorrhoids are enlarged, abnormal growth of veins in the rectum. Hemorrhoids develop in the 2 sets of veins that are responsible for circulating blood in lower rectum and anus.
Internal Hemorrhoids –The internal veins swell to become internal hemorrhoids. They cannot be seen or felt unless they are severe and painful.
External Hemorrhoids – Swelling in the external veins of the lower rectum forms external hemorrhoids. External hemorrhoids can be felt and noticed.

is it true that garlic can treat hemorrhoids?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

One of the things you will want to do is to increase your fiber, and that should help with hemorrhoids. I don’t believe garlic is used to treat this condition. You might want to increase your intake of vitamin C, this might help.
