Hemorrhoid Relief |

I have had hemorrhoids for about 3 years off and on. I have used over the counter meds. My doctor has perscribed supporsitories and onintment when the over the counter no longer worked. My doctor thinks surgery is not needed at this time. Besides fiber and water which I know are importatnt is there are there any natural meds or any other treatments worth trying that won’t be a waste of money. Doctors and sufferers of Hemorrhoids please respond only. Thanks

Hey, I totally understand what you are going through. When I was pregnant I was beside my self with Hemorrhoids and the doctor said that it would go away after I had the baby, but, it never did. So after I kept going back to my Doctor and him saying the same thing I decided to get another opinion. Anyway I did and in fact I did have to get them surgically removed, ever since that I have never had a problem, so with that being said I think you should get a second opinion and get them removed.

I smoke, I drink and recently have been suffering from enflamed hemorrhoids. They seem to only stop bothering me for days at a time and then *bam* they’re back. When reading on how to Treat Hemorrhoids I always see "stop smoking/stop drinking"…but I don’t see how either would effect hemorrhoids…so how does smoking or drinking "cause" Hemorrhoids?

Because both have an effect on blood circulation.

I don’t think it’s a boil. It’s like a tiny ulcer, closed and hard. If it was elsewhere, I would just ignore it, but the way I sit caused me to directly aggravate it.

My poor girlfriend goes for long walks. During these walks she feels discomfort and itching. When she gets home there is blood in her underwear from what must be hemorrhoids. Is there a pad she can wear that will prevent the blood from soiling her? This is not a joke. Only adult replies are invited.

There are over the counter relief preparations specific for Hemorrhoids such as Preparation H. However, seriously consider focus on prevention. This may be more helpful rather than post-treatment.

Eating more fiber and not straining while on the toilet will reduce the incidence of hemorrhoids. These are just two suggestions. Walking is excellent for keeping regular.

Foods high in fiber are vegetables, whole grains, whole wheat bread. Adding metamucil can help. Drinking lots of water is important. Even drinking coffee can help. Some medications can make people constipated, such as anti-depressants, so if someone is taking medications it is important to check with your doctor and/or pharmacist. If one or more medication makes you constipated then you may have to compensate and increase your fiber.

You can spend all the money you want on cremes and pads but the cheapest and best way to get rid of them is buy a bottle of witch hazel and apply to a cloth(wash cloth, paper towel ,whatever) and I know this sounds bad but fold and place in between cheeks up against the area and relax..keep in on for alittle while..do this at least 3xs a day. Remember also DON’T STRAIN when going to the bathroom and if you have problems take a laxative. If they don’t go away after awhile go see a doctor.

I’ve had it for 3 days… and it hasn’t seemed to get much better. I’ve been using Preperation H as well as icing it and takin warm baths often. I have been laying most of the time, as this makes it less painfull. It is definitly external, I’m 15, female, and I was wondering if I should wait longer to have it go away on its own, or if I should seek medical treatment. Will it be gone by monday, maybe?

It is odd for someone so young to develop one but it should subside on its own. If it does not a doctor may drain the inflamed vein or recommend other treatment. You may be straining while defecating or sitting on the bowl too long. If you need to take stool softeners temporarily, do so.

It sounded kinda gross when I heard about it, but I haven’t been able to get rid of my Hemorrhoids and with a newborn baby they are really slowing me down. My friend said to push them back in– her doctor told her to do it and it worked, and it’s worked for a number of her friends. So…I tried it, and it seems like (sorry for TMI) the ‘roids are too far away from the anal hole to be pushed back in. Should I push harder? Or leave it be? I know a lot of you will refer me to my GP, but I just moved here and don’t have one yet…I know they aren’t bad enough for surgery and they aren’t bleeding…just really uncomfortable and often throbbing. If any of you have experience where you can give me as much detailed instruction as possible, I’m dying for relief!!

if they are external get to a chemist and get some anusol hc suppositories they will help them to shrink down and they will sort of go back inside i had this problem many times so i know what a pain in the butt they can be (forgive the pun)
u dont need a prescription for the suppositories . warm bath can help 2 plenty of fibre and water in ur diet will help prevent them from recurring too often good luck.

I just started using Preparation H but my itching is still horrible and its causing me to lose sleep. I went to the hospital on friday and the doctor said I had an anal fissure as well as hemorrhoids, so I need something that will take away the pain from the itching of my Hemorrhoids, I know it sounds disgusting but I really do need help if anyone has been in this position please feel free to comment
